Comply with EU and Californian low-sulphur regulations – DIESELswitch
CARB has since July 1st 2009 required the use of ultra-low sulphur fuels (MDO/MGO) in Californian waters and similar regulations will be introduced in European harbors January 1st 2010.

The regulations EU Directive 2005-33-EC and California Code of Regulations will come into
force on 01/Jan/2010 to restrict sulfur content in fuel oil to reduce SOx emissions.
