 The yard consept was conceived in the 1980's. Drydock No. 1 was commssioned and in operation by Sept. 2000. The Yard has continued to develop and now has drydock No. 2 in place with the first vessel being hauled in March 2002. The dock No 2 at Grand Bahama Shipyard is one of the largest floating docks in the world. Its has a lifting apacity of 82.500 tones and is capable of ocking VLCC's up to 250,000 tons dwt and cruise ships up to 150,000 tons grt
